(Dana) is the single parent to four children, ages 15-25. Dana is a survivor of domestic abuse and family abuse and also survived a protracted divorce. Her 22- and 20-year-old children are attending college; the eldest recently completed his first year at Fordham Law School (on a full scholarship).
(Sandra & Paul) are parents of six children, ages 5-19. They lived in a family shelter for many years. Paul is a custodian. He is employed as the Head of Maintenance at a Youth Center and works 25 hours/week. Sandra struggles with serious physical ailments and is unable to work outside the home. Two of the children have health issues (ADHD, asthma, mood disorder).
